Andrea Woodner and Allison Kavey started Rivendell Dressage, Inc. in 2007.  RDI purchases, trains, and sells young dressage horses of exceptional quality.  The first crop of RDI horses have achieved several national championships and multiple top 20 placings in the USDF national standings since 2007.

Allison Kavey was a member of the 1997 and 1998 Region 8 teams for the NAYRC riding Dorian, a horse she trained under the guidance of Jan Jacobson from 2nd level through the FEI.  With Elessar, a Trakehner gelding she started under saddle, she earned her USDF Silver Medal, qualified several times for Dressage at Devon, and competed with consistent results at the Prix St Georges and Intermediare I.   A paddock injury forced his retirement in 2006.  Since then, she has taken Hojbo's Ronaldo from training level through the Intermediare I and qualified him twice for Dressage at Devon (most recently in the small tour CDI), qualified Stedinger's Lady for the USEF 4 year old and FEI 5 year old divisions at Dressage at Devon, and competed multiple other young horses in the national levels. She is a committed teacher, patient trainer, and her work is defined by her affection and harmony with horses.
